Small business owners are guilty of “shocking” levels of website neglect, according to new research. A recent survey covering nineteen business sectors found that 23% of their websites had not been updated since their initial launch! The average age of a website was 4 years, making their content either obsolete or at best inaccurate. Only 8% of the websites surveyed had an e-commerce element to the business, a staggering figure compared with the billions spent in e-commerce overall. This is paradoxical when most business owners said that they had started the website to increase sales!
